45 years ago today…. The MD and I got married. 200 guests? Marquee on the golf club lawn? Champagne? Band from our club? She picked me up at 2.00 in her orange 2cv from the ex mill we were converting to Appartment’s. It was a filthy cold winters day with sleet from a grey sky. We went to the registry office where she had arranged for 2 witnesses. I was dressed in working boots and a long suede and fur coat with red paint marks on it. Wet tousled hair. Fairly dirty. We did the deed and she dropped me back at the site just after 2.30 pm. It was 2 days after John Lennon was shot and there was a generally miserable attitude around. But here we are.
